Sitting down to write this blog post, had me thinking about how I used to look after my skin back in high school, I really didn’t do much, expect wash my face with a beauty bar (Dove beauty bar),sunblock and ponds perfect complexion. This literally all I used only because, genetically I was blessed with great skin (thank you, skin goddess!), but like any other teenager there were days pimples greeted me with their presence, and I was running around the kitchen looking for garlic (which works like magic over-night for pimples, simply cut a garlic clove into half, apply on the pimple over-night or for 20 minutes, and watch the that sucker slowly disappear). When I turned twenty my skin care routine, was something I started to take more seriously. I remember reading an article ‘be good to your skin, you’ll wear it every day for the rest of your life’ those words stuck with me, making me realise just how important looking after my skin is. Realizing I needed to take care of my skin was far easier, than finding skin care products and developing a skin care routine that works for me. I quickly learned that figuring out what products works for your skin type comes with quite a bit of trial, error, and numerous break outs, but once you found the products that work for you, always stay in the same playing field. In order to find the right products, you need to know your skin type (I have combination skin, and my skin is sensitive too).Do You Have DRY SKIN:

There's one thing we can all agree on, life is so unpredictable. It has a funny way of throwing surprises at us when we least expect them, think about it for second, last minute meeting, social gatherings, oh and how that on-the-go mishaps. We can't predict when life will throw us with these curve balls, but we can have a well-organized handbag to help us get through them. ‘POP’ there goes your button, need to refresh your make up before drinks with girls, you’re all set. Just reach into your life-supporting handbag and grab what you need. Don’t have it? Well then keep reading for the seven life-supporting items every women needs in her handbag to get her from the AM grind to, night-time social scene. 1. Make up Setting spray & make up: Make up setting spray is a necessity for a quick pick-me-up throughout the day. If your skin is feeling dehydrated, or if you just need a little refresher to spark your make up and look tad bit revitalized (looking for a great, pick me up make up spray check out Kiki beauty, in my previous post).Make up is something you need for touch ups through the day. Your makeup bag should include at least, mascara, an eyeliner, a lipstick, and setting powder. These three products will do the trick for whatever situation you round up in. What I find works well with make-up bags, is finding ones almost the same colour as your handbag ta-da. 2. A safety pin: These are life-savers, if you pop a button, or even something gets torn on the-go. Safety pins also come in handy if your necklace clasp breaks. Just pop a safety pin or two in one of the tiny compartments of your handbag or pin-it on the inside of your handbag. 3. Bobby pins and hairbands: Like life, your hair is equally unpredictable, and you never know especially, when humidity or the rain might just turn your good hair day, into a bad one. I usually pop these into my make-up bag. 4. Tissues: If you don’t have these in your everyday handbag than there’s a slight issue. Tissues is one thing a lady should never, I repeat never leave the house without. Tissues come in handy for various different things, running nose, throwing away a piece of gum, having an emotional moment. 5. Hand Cream: This one for me is a must, I hate that awful dry hand feeling. You know what they say moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. 6. Hydrating lip balm: This item I keep in my makeup bag as well, I can’t stand dry lips, especially during the winter months, and if I don’t have time to reapply my lipstick than, I just grab my labello and I’m good to go.Remeber dry, chapped lips are not attractive 7. Perfume: Another item I’m sure most of you already carry in your handbags. Perfume, is vital to be smelling good all the time, my best tip here is to keep cute samples, you receive when purchasing perfume in your handbag. Hoped you enjoyed reading this, as promised on instagram I will be sharing new blog post every Thursday, so to keep up with me don't forget to hit the subscribe button at the bottom of the page. And I hope your everyday handbag is a tad bit more equipped after reading this. 'Life is short, buy the bag and remeber you can have one for every occasion'~Yodha Xx Yodha About two weeks ago, I was in dis-chem and Edgar’s as well as red square, wondering around looking for an different setting spray, because the only setting spray I own is MAC fix, and the only other setting spray I tried before this (will reframe from using the brands name), left my skin feeling dry and, my makeup was kind of peeling in a weird way, not a very pleasant experience. For the cherry on top I used that 'other setting spray' while attending a wedding let just say, complete disaster. Luckily, after my unpleasant expedition Kiki beauty got into contact me and offered me to try out their range of setting sprays , I was super excited and completely abandoned my shopping trip and investigations, to put the Kiki beauty setting sprays to the test. Firstly before I start grading Kiki beauty make up setting sprays, I would like to share with you beautiful readers, a little more about the skincare brand. Kiki beauty, is an innovative, exciting and dynamic brand that recently hit South African shores, the brands caters for all the diverse skin types, our country is made up of. The Kiki beauty brand creates exclusive, natural based skincare and cosmetics of the finest quality, the products are made in South Africa and the best part, cruelty free, paraben free(paraben= preservatives used in cosmetic products, that can cause dry skin, and irritation for people who have sensitive skin or/are allergic). The Kiki beauty make up setting sprays are a part of the ‘make-up ready range’, one of three individual skincare ranges. The makeup setting sprays come three different scents this quality makes this setting sprays stand apart from many other setting sprays on the market, as most setting sprays come with standard scents. Kiki beauty has a plain standard scent make up setting spray, a Rose dew setting, spray (pink), and a cool citrus (orange/gold) which has a hint of citrus. This gives you an opportunity to choose a makeup setting spray that is more intact with your taste and personality, mine would have to be the Rose Dew setting spray, and in fact it’s sitting on my dressing table and looks absolute amazing. When purchasing anything, one things for sure the packaging matters. It’s like food, “you eat with your eyes” same thing with skincare or cosmetics products the more stylish the packaging, the more I’d want to pour my savings into purchasing the product. I am in love with the packaging of the Kiki beauty make up setting sprays, the product comes in a box, which it’s looks classy, stylish and has an expensive feel. The Setting sprays come in a sleek canister, and every scent a different colour.Kiki beauty have simply out done themselves with the packaging! On Friday night, my boyfriend and I headed out for supper, and the opportunity presented itself to put the Kiki beauty setting sprays to test.I completed my make-up routine as normal, but used the setting twice during my routine, first as primer(as primer the product left me with a silky smooth surface to apply my make up on too) and second as a finish setting spray( as finishing spray the product left my skin feeling light, and uplifted).I found that setting spray had a nice light effect and made my skin look glowy and not oily, as other setting sprays. The product was able to lock down my makeup look and kept me looking great all through the night, even with the cuddles. My contour was kept in place and when I got home the first thing I done, was run onto the mirror and check my make-up, to my surprise it, looked as though I had just finish a face beat. The following week Monday I had a hectic day, to put the Kiki beauty setting sprays through, I was busy running errands, shopping, lunching dates, meetings and in between those activities, your make up does sometimes become dull if could say. When researching the product I found that you could use it to revive your make-up during the day or simply whenever you needed skin boost (a little hydration). And I done just that, pulled my Kiki beauty setting spray out my handbag (side note: its fits perfect in my tote) and within seconds of spraying my skin with a few spritzer, my skin looked not dull and much more hydrate, pulling me further through my day. The product deliveries results, there no question about that, it’s also helps to moisturizer your skin, and keep your make up looking great from at least 8am- 7pm.So no more having to reapply a full face of make up or touching up through your day, rather just use a few spritzer of Kiki beauty bliss and go on. You can even use the product when going for a no-make-up-look as the product is geranium enriched, helping moisture your skin and making you look glowy as well as revitalized.
Overall, the Kiki beauty setting sprays, speak for themselves, with the gorgeous packaging and incredible results, this one product has made a permeant place in my makeup kit. The products retail between R230-R245 for a 100ml bottle. Reason why you need to use setting spray before/after makeup application: 1. MAKE UP LAST LONGER: lock your make up down for longer, making you go hours without having to reapply make up 2. SMOOTH your skin and make up, giving your make a more flawless finish, and revitalizer your skin, locking in moisture. Products mentioned in the above post can me purchased from www.kikibeauty.co.za Xx Yodha Mystique Beauty, one of the most luxurious online beauty stores in South Africa, and yes we all know by now one of my absolute best-loved local beauty brands, whose products have become a staple in my make-up application process as well as skin care routine, have finally some released some make up. Over the last few months mystique have been driving social media insane, teasing us with eye shadow palettes, sili sponges, unicorn brushes and make up cover sticks. So after a long anticipated wait I finally got my hands on these exciting make up products. The Shadow kissed eye shadow palette is from all the products released the one I wanted to get my hands on the most, mystique advertised the palette as having "nine insanely pigmented buttery eyeshadow pans" so you could say I had already built up quite a few expectations just based of that, cause I don’t know about you, but any eyeshadow that has the words 'buttery' and 'pigmented' in the same sentence, has me head-over-heels. And at my surprise the eyeshadow palette was everything made out to be and more, each eyeshadow is equally pigmented and I was not running to grab my MAC fix setting spray to help pick up more colour as I would with other eyeshadows. The shadow kissed eyeshadow palette is buttery and has seamless and smooth application with no fall out, whether applying the eyeshadows with fingers or brushes they still provided unbelievable pigmentation. I’ve been using the Shadow kiss eyeshadow palette with every make-up look for the past two weeks, and I’ve been getting tons of compliments, and everyone wanting to know what eyeshadow have I got on. The one thing about the shadow kiss palette which, I’m rather disappointed about is the packaging, compared to mystique beauty other products which normally have such a luxurious feel to them this was bit of a letdown. But overall the Shadow kiss palette is perfect addition for your make-up bag as it’s just the right size, the beautiful, insanely, buttery and pigmented colours make this eyeshadow palette one that is worth purchasing, the shadow kiss eyeshadow palette retails online at R200.00 for at the moment previously priced at R350.00. Despite the packaging being a disappoint the contents within compensate for the packaging, if you looking for an eyeshadow palette that’s going to rock your then this one’s for you! Definitely worth your pretty penny. ‘Buttery’ and ‘pigmented’ all I’m going to say (sipping tea)… The other product which mystique gave me something to talk about was the ‘cover up baby gurrl’make up cover stick, now I’m quite the fussy one when it comes to any foundation, concealer and colour corrects because of my sensitive skin, but this cover stick aka concealer is different from your usual make-up cover sticks. The product is free from parabens, for those of you who don’t know, parabens are group of compounds used as preservatives in cosmetic products, this nasty compound basically causes individuals who have sensitive skin, irritation, and dry skin, there are some people who are allergic to paraben as well, so if you one of those people or simply like me who have sensitive skin you might want to stay clear from products containing paraben. The ‘cover up baby gurrl’ make up stick, makes an incredible concealer and is great for slaying that contour, the cover stick comes in lovely yellow undertone which is great for people who have a warm undertone (if you don’t know what undertone you are, look down at your wrist blue veins= cool undertone, green vein= warm undertone), I’m always complaining about how difficult it is to find affordable, concealer, foundations and BB creams that match well with a warm undertone, and I’m pretty excited this cover stick is one affordable, and two matches perfectly with my warm undertone. The cover sticks formula is of a light, creamy consistency, making applications and blending a breeze, with this product a little goes a long way. When applying the concealer I literally use a pea size amount under my eyes, my chin as well as the bridge of my nose. Yes, a pea size amount for all those areas! The cover stick is long-lasting, taking me from 8am to 5pm, providing enough coverage in the areas where I apply concealer, to get me through my day, the product gives a natural finish eliminating the cakey enemy and does not require setting powder to prevent creasing under the eye as the formula is of a light consistency. The cover stick helps to cover my nasty dark circles (and the discolouration on my chin) effortlessly, another factor that I really loved is, the product being waterproof, meaning won’t just melt away on a hot summer day like other concealers. Overall the ‘cover up baby gurrl’ ticks all the right boxes on my checklist though I do hope that mystique adds more colours to the range, for people with darker skin tones, and cooler skins tones. One last product from mystique that I would love to share with you beauties, (if you haven't heard of it already) The 'kissproof matte liptick.Being obessed with make-up you can image how many matte lipstick have I tried already, and if you read previous blog posts you might be aware that, I'm not fan of having my lips feeling like the sahara dessert, but the 'kissproof matte lipsticks from Mystique have passed my matte liquid lipstick test with an A+. The kissproof matte lipstick are long-lasting, and the name says it all, they really are kissproof.I can have lunch, sip my tea/coffee without worrying about my lipstick fading away, and not having to rush to the bathroom to re-apply is the best part. One tip make sure to use a lip scrub before applying as well as lip balm. The kissproof matte lipsticks come in various shades but Dolce is my fave. On that note I should probably go and organize my dressing table to make my mystique beauty unicorn brushes the main attraction..if you beauties would like to purchase any of the products mentioned in my post/in the images head on over to http://mystiquebeauty.co.za/ So mystique beauty and I have teamed up to give one lucky lady some mystique goodies and specifically the shadow kiss eyeshadow palette now heres what you have to do: GIVEAWAY FASHSPIRATION101 X MYSTIQUE BEAUTY:
